Security Drivers in New York City

A security driver is part of your protection detail, not a ride service. Our drivers plan every route, watch for surveillance and know how to get you out of trouble, from a Midtown curb to a driveway in the Hamptons.

What a Security Driver Does

More Than a Driver

In New York, the most exposed moments of an executive's day happen around the car: waiting at the curb, sitting in traffic, arriving at a venue everyone knows you are going to. A security driver is trained for exactly those moments.

Before a trip, the driver studies the route, the alternates and every point where the vehicle will have to slow down or stop. During the trip, they watch the mirrors as much as the road. If something looks wrong, changing course is their call to make, immediately.

Our drivers go through the same executive protection training as the rest of our specialists, with defensive driving, route planning and real-time traffic management on top of it.

The Difference

Security Driver vs. Chauffeur

Both get you to your destination. Only one is trained to think about who else knows where you are going. Read the full comparison on our blog.

How It Works

How the Service Works

  1. 01

    Confidential consultation

We start with a conversation about who is traveling, where, how often and what worries you. Nothing leaves the team assigned to you.

  2. 02

    Threat and route assessment

We review the client's profile and the itineraries, then plan primary and alternate routes, pickup points and safe places to stop.

  3. 03

    Driver assignment

We match the driver to the risk and to the setting, from a discreet daily commute to a vehicle inside a full protective detail.

  4. 04

    Coordinated movement

On the day, the driver works with the agents on foot and with our coordination desk, adjusting for traffic, closures and anything out of place.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a security driver and a chauffeur?

A chauffeur's job is comfort and punctuality. A security driver's job is your safety: they plan primary and alternate routes, watch for surveillance, control where the car stops and are trained to drive you away from a threat before anything else.

Can a security driver also act as a bodyguard?

For low-profile, everyday movements a trained security driver can cover both roles. When the risk is higher we separate them: the driver stays with the vehicle, ready to move, while a protection agent stays with the client on foot.

Which areas do you cover?

Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, the Hamptons and New Jersey, including airport transfers at JFK, LaGuardia, Newark and Teterboro. Longer trips can be planned on request.

Do you work with visiting executives and delegations?

Yes. The airport is often the first exposure point of a visit, so the detail can start at arrivals and run through the hotel, the meetings and the departure.

How far in advance should I book a security driver?

As early as you can. Route planning and advance work take time, especially for multi-day visits or public events. Tell us your dates as soon as you know them and we will tell you what we need to plan properly.

How much does a security driver cost?

It depends on the hours, the number of days, the vehicle and the level of risk. We quote after a short, confidential consultation, so you only pay for the coverage the situation calls for.
